A report recently released by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) reveals that there were 1.1 million REALTORS nationwide in 2014.
Eighty percent of Realtors sell residential real estate (homes/townhomes).
In 2014, Realtors sold an average of 11 properties, down from 12 in 2013. According to the report, this is because the amount of homes available for sale was decreasing at the same time that more new Realtors were entering the profession.
In the Gainesville real estate marketplace, a total of 1,648 residential properties have sold so far this year — this includes detached single family homes and townhomes/condos.
There are 556 REALTORS active in the Gainesville MLS that have helped people buy or sell detached single family homes or townhomes/condos in the marketplace this year.
Of those 556 REALTORS, 135 (24%) have sold one property or less.
Everybody has to start somewhere. Agents new to the business who have strong broker support and have someone to help guide them through transactions until they become more seasoned move up the experience ladder quickly.
