Driving around Haile Plantation on a recent blue-sky fall afternoon, I couldn’t help but notice how many homes were decorated for Halloween. Whether it was little ghosties tied to tree limbs, pumpkin displays on porches, or full-on graveyards on front lawns, there was no mistaking the feel of the harvest season and of the impending night of Halloween.
I know it’s hard to believe, but even in Florida we DO have fall. ๐
There are a couple of cool Halloween events scheduled this year in Haile Plantation.
Friday night, October 29, Haile Village will be hosting a children’s Trick or Treat night from 5 to 8 PM. Local businesses will be giving out candy to all the little ghosties and ghoulies and magic fairy princesses who stop on by.
And, because our four-legged friends should not be left out of such an awesome holiday celebration, The Gainesville Pug Meetup Group will be holding a Halloween (eve) Pug meetup at Sweet Paws Bakery in Haile Village on Saturday, October 30, beginning at 1 PM. Just so your pug does not show up unprepared for such an auspicious event, make sure they are decked out in a costume as there will be prizes awarded. Also, rumor has it that Colleen, the owner of Sweet Paws Bakery, will be making a special Halloween cake for the pugs in attendance. Admission is $3.
