Haile Plantation Association HOA considering special assessment

At its August 6, 2018 meeting, the Haile Plantation Association HOA will be voting on a $300 special assessment for all Haile Plantation Association homeowners. This assessment would be a one-time charge in addition to its regular dues.

According to a July 24, 2018 article in The Gainesville Sun, a recent notice to Haile Plantation Association homeowners “lists the [Management Specialists Services] lawsuit, liability from past and future storms, fence and sign repairs, paving issues, and tree work as expenses to be covered by the assessment if passed.”

The Management Specialists Services lawsuit refers to Haile Plantation Association HOA terminating its contract with Management Specialists Services after alleging incurable breach of contract. Leland Management took over as the new management company for Haile Plantation Association HOA on January 1, 2018. Management Specialists Services filed a lawsuit against the HOA. Non-binding arbitration was unsuccessful and Management Specialists Services has requested a trial.
